Architectural Emporium are diversifying and have teamed up with friends to set up a pub, cultural venue and brewery. The property positioned on Smithdown Road has a rich heritage. It was a livery, then the Sefton Park Picturedrome and subsequently a Handyman Shop for 50 years. We will be retaining the name and creating a venue with many different uses that continue to serve the community. A new build two storey volume comprising two bars, a brewery, cellar, kitchen and toilets will be positioned within the large volume, creating two distinct primary spaces. Beers will be made on site and also collaboratively with other brilliant breweries. We opened as a pop up venue as part of the Smithdown Road Festival (29th April-1st May). The following weekend (6-7th May) will be devoted to the Hammer and Nail Pop Up Film Festival with Empty Spaces Cinema. Funds raised from the pop up events will be put towards the full refurbishment, with a summer opening planned. Watch out for updates and progress shots. We look forward to hosting you.
