Positive Futures Anfield, Liverpool
Positive Futures are a charity based youth organisation in Anfield. Previously based on Spellows Lane near Goodison Park, this project moved them to a purpose built facility previously used for office purposes and in a poor state of repair. Prior to the housing association office use, the building was used as a community centre and the sports hall existed. Our project involved converting the dilapidated building back into a modern and appealing facility to serve the young people of the local area. Throughout the process, young people who use the facility were consulted through a series of engaging workshops and tours of the construction site. The proposed refurbishment involves minor alterations to the building’s exterior facades and more extensive works to the interior, involving the creation of additional rooms, bespoke fitted furniture, new flooring, lighting and the making good of damaged areas. The key spaces are a multifunctional sports hall, a sensory room, educational kitchen spaces, music / virtual reality rooms and the main youth hub space. There is also provision for external landscaping works providing a new communal gardening area alongside an outdoor football pitch. The project was delivered affordably for £930,000.
